There many things in life that I can't figure out, but, top of the list must be which fish I can cook with the knowledge that I am not making the world a worser place.
I thought I was making progress with pen raised Scottish salmon and US tilapia but since found the salmon isn't doing much for the situation and the tilapia is bad for my brain, and like I said, there is already a lot that I don't understand, so I need all the grey matter that-I-got... So hurrah for Fish Tales, answers lay ahead.
In Fish Tales, authors' Bart and Tom zoom across the globe finding all the fishes that we can cut, cook, eat and still look our kids in the eyes while cleaning the dishes.
Engaging with nine sustainable fisheries and the fishermen that work them, the authors spotlight what's right to cook and share locally influenced recipes that do justice to the catch; Roast Thyme-Crusted Mulloway in Australia, Fennel & Peppered Mackerel Fillet in England, Stir -Fried Clams with Thai Basil & Chile Jam in Vietnam to name a few.
Weaved between the splendid recipes and their knowledge fueled text are some great photographs depicting their travels, these soften the book up just enough to make it a well rounded read, and a worthy purchase for your book shelf.
